A fitting gauge is used in woodworking to measure (or gauge) a dimension without using a ruler. The pinch sticks are extended for the dimension and then transferred to the work.

Not sure how this came up on my list of recommended videos! I guess if I knew what a fitting gauge was, I’d be impressed.

That’s a good idea. You may have shown a bit more about it’s use tho, for those who have never used this sort of thing. I have a purpose made tool that I built & it doesn’t do the job any better than your’s. Take care.
